Autumn Sound Bath with Jasmine Berry
Sunday, October 19th
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST | In-Studio | Cost: $30 until 9/15; After 9/15: $35
Sound bath facilitator Jasmine will play multiple instruments to support relaxation and well-being, including crystal sound bowls, drums, gong, and chimes.

A sound bath is a meditative experience where attendees are “bathed” in sound waves. After the sound bath, you can expect to feel enhanced mental clarity, peace and serenity, less physical tension, and improved rest.

No meditation experience or flexibility is needed! All are welcome, just show up to receive.
Participants will be lying down on yoga mats/blankets throughout the sound bath. If you’d like to sit in a chair rather than lying down or have any specific concerns, please reach out.
Bring a yoga mat and/or blanket, a pillow, and a scarf to place over your eyes for your comfort. If you don’t have a yoga mat, there will be mats and bolsters available at the studio.

About the Instructor:
Jasmine Berry is a dedicated sound bath practitioner on a mission to create restorative experiences that encourage us to slow down, reflect, and nurture our well-being. Through the power of sound, she holds space for healing, realignment, and deepening our connection with ourselves.

Autumn Harvest with James Foulkes
Saturday, October 25th | 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm EST | In-Studio | Cost: $60
As we enter Autumn, we harvest the growth of Spring and Summer, and like the trees, bring our energy inward to lighten up and release old "leaves," which we no longer need.

Autumn is the most potent season for intuition and vision and associated with the Metal Element in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In this workshop we are to focus on rejuvenating and invigorating the Organs and Meridians (energy channels) of the Metal Element - the Lungs and Intestines and the transmutation of their negative emotional characteristics.

The Metal energy of Autumn is an expression of new Yin. We will balance the Yin nature of the gentle cleansing asana stretches and breathwork with complementary Yang practices, whilst using meditation, journeying and deep inward listening to open to our intuitive gifts.
Slide & Glide: Happy Hips, Knees, & Feet
Sunday, November 2nd | 2 PM - 4 PM EST | In-Studio | Cost: $45
Join us for this two hour Fascial Release workshop with Tricia Kull!

Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, nerves, and organs. When it’s healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move, but when your fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict your movement and breath, and even cause pain.

In this workshop, we will use tools, simple techniques, and yoga poses to release layers of fascia in the feet and legs.

This practice will help create renewed slide and glide in the tissues of your hips, knees, and feet, and make space for more easeful movement.

Props will be provided. No experience necessary. This is in person ONLY.
Tai Chi with Robert Anderson

Radiant Rhythms Ecstatic Dance with Clara Fang
Saturday, November 15th | 6:45pm - 9pm EST | In-Studio | $30
Ecstatic dance is an exceptional wellness practice exploring free expression through movement in a substance-free, facilitated, and inclusive environment. In ecstatic dance, there are no set steps or structures, you move however you feel moved to move.
Do you feel like doing graceful twirls by yourself or with a partner? Stomp and punch the air? Rock back and forth on your back? Put your legs up against a wall? Curl up in a corner? You do anything you want that doesn't interfere with others' self expression.
In ecstatic dance, we co-create a safe space where everyone is free to be their authentic selves. The result is mental clarity, emotional freedom, and physical embodiment.
The benefits of ecstatic dance include:
-
Stress and tension relief
-
Mindfulness and relaxation
-
Somatic healing
-
Self-expression
-
Exercise and play
-
Community and connection

An Inclusive Space: All ages, genders, sexual orientation, and abilities welcome.

Four Seasons of Forest Bathing
with Susan West Montgomery
Saturday, December 20th | 3:00pm - 4:30pm EST | Rock Creek Park | $40
Follow the Wheel of the Year with seasonal forest bathing sessions in Rock Creek Park!
Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, is a Japanese wellness practice that helps individuals access the healing properties of nature.
These can be especially powerful during the times of transition offered by the changing seasons. Each walk will follow a different route, but all will allow us to experience this familiar landscape at
different times of the year.
You will be invited to slow down, to be curious, and to touch, smell, hear, and see nature more fully. The walks will not be strenuous but requires the ability to walk a mile or so on uneven surfaces.

About Susan:
Susan is long-time member of the Willow Street Yoga Community and a Kripalu certified Outdoor Mindfulness Guide. She provides customized outdoor mindfulness excursions in the Washington DC region and beyond. She is also a passionate advocate and non-profit consultant who is committed to leveraging natural and historic places to connect citizens, promote social justice, and foster health and well-being.
