Tai Chi is a gentle, low-impact exercise that originated in China as a martial art. It involves a series of slow, controlled movements and postures, along with deep breathing and a meditative state of mind. Tai Chi is often called "meditation in motion" because it is designed to harmonize the body, mind, and energy levels. It can help with a variety of health concerns, including flexibility and strength, balance and coordination, stress and anxiety, depression, and pain relief.

Workshop participants experience introductory basics as well as advanced movements and exercises in order to gain a full understanding of Tai Chi’s philosophy so that they can begin to incorporate it into their everyday wellness practice.

In this workshop, experienced and beginning students learn Tai Chi’s four core mental health benefits: calming, grounding, letting go, and creating. Tai Chi’s gentle, low impact mind and body exercises incorporate graceful, relaxing movements that help generate physical and mental balance. Each session has a different focus and provides practical tools for your everyday life:

  • 9/14 - Tai Chi for Calming

  • 10/12 - Tai Chi for Grounding

  • 11/9 - Tai Chi for Releasing

Cacao & Sound A Journey with the Energy of Keme with Johanna Olivas

Saturday, September 27th

3:00 pm - 4:30 pm EST | In-Studio | Cost: $40

Join us for a heart-opening ceremony that blends the sacred medicine of cacao with a restorative sound journey, guided by the energy of Keme in the Mayan Cholq’ij calendar- a day of ancestral connection, release, and spiritual renewal.

We’ll begin with a ceremonial cup of cacao to soften into presence, followed by intention setting and gentle movement. We will flow into an immersive sound bath using crystal alchemy bowls and other instruments, supporting deep rest and emotional release.

Keme reminds us that healing ripples across time. Together, we honor what we carry, what we’re ready to release, and the wisdom waiting to be remembered.

All are welcome.

Four Seasons of Forest Bathing

with Susan West Montgomery

Saturday, September 20th | 3:00pm - 4:30pm EST | Rock Creek Park | $55

Follow the Wheel of the Year with seasonal forest bathing sessions in Rock Creek Park!

Shinrin-yoku, or forest bathing, is a Japanese wellness practice that helps individuals access the healing properties of nature.

These can be especially powerful during the times of transition offered by the changing seasons. Each walk will follow a different route, but all will allow us to experience this familiar landscape at
different times of the year.

You will be invited to slow down, to be curious, and to touch, smell, hear, and see nature more fully. The walks will not be strenuous but requires the ability to walk a mile or so on uneven surfaces.

Radiant Rhythms Ecstatic Dance with Clara Fang

Saturday, October 4th | 6:45pm - 9pm EST | In-Studio | $30

Ecstatic dance is an exceptional wellness practice exploring free expression through movement in a substance-free, facilitated, and inclusive environment. In ecstatic dance, there are no set steps or structures, you move however you feel moved to move.

Do you feel like doing graceful twirls by yourself or with a partner? Stomp and punch the air? Rock back and forth on your back? Put your legs up against a wall? Curl up in a corner? You do anything you want that doesn't interfere with others' self expression.

In ecstatic dance, we co-create a safe space where everyone is free to be their authentic selves. The result is mental clarity, emotional freedom, and physical embodiment.

The benefits of ecstatic dance include:

  • Stress and tension relief

  • Mindfulness and relaxation

  • Somatic healing

  • Self-expression

  • Exercise and play

  • Community and connection

An Inclusive Space: All ages, genders, sexual orientation, and abilities welcome.

About the Facilitator:
Clara Fang, Ph.D is the founder of Green Tara Consulting, a consulting firm that specializes in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. She is an experienced facilitator of ecstatic dance, meditation, and authentic relating. She lives in Germantown, MD. Learn more at bio.site/cfang
