Yoga for Pelvic Floor Health

The pelvic floor is one of the most under discussed and misunderstood (yet one of the single most important) muscular groups in the body. It is the set of core muscles that control sexual function, elimination and hold our organs in our body against gravity. In this class we will use yogic techniques such as breath work, meditation and alignment focused asana practice to make a mind body connection with this often ignored (to our own peril) area of the body. Asana practice will focus on stretching, strengthening and stabilizing the muscles of pelvic floor, along with other critical muscular groups along the central fascial line of the body, for optimal muscular health “down there”. Bring an open mind and a willingness to talk/hear about this part of the body within a mixed group. All levels welcome.
