Introduction to Kundalini Yoga

Introduction to Kundalini Yoga offers students the chance to experience the fundamental aspects of Kundalini Yoga which include a warming up of the body through basic stretches and light movement, followed by a kriya. A kriya is a series of exercises done in a specific sequence, typically in a repetitive fashion, with a focus on breathing while building strength. Each class will end with a short meditation designed to best realize the benefits of the kriya. Because Kundalini Yoga is very different than other types of yoga and does not heavily emphasize traditional postures, students of all levels–including those who have never taken any type of yoga–are encouraged to attend. Introduction to Kundalini Yoga also offers modifications for each pose and as a result is appropriate for people with disabilities who are interested in learning the practice.
