Introduction to Vinyasa

Have you ever attended a Vinyasa class and felt a bit lost and challenged by this yoga flow, or were confused about the linking of movement to breath technique? Or, maybe you’ve heard the teacher say ChataWHAT? ChataWHO? And thought to yourself, “What on earth did I get myself into?” If any of the above rings true, then this class series is for you. Although Vinyasa style yoga is designed to be a strengthening and therefore somewhat challenging physical practice, it becomes more accessible when the student understands the nature of this particular style, implements the proper alignment of asanas promoting the safety of the body’s joints, all while grasping better the concept of linking breath to movement.

This three-week series with Erica Robinson meets on Wednesday (11/6, 11/13 & 11/20) from 6:15-7:30p. In this series, you will learn the fundamentals of Vinyasa so that you can bring your newly acquired knowledge and awareness into any Vinyasa style class, and practice with a bit more confidence. Erica will also show you how to modify when needed, while still being able to participate in this wonderful moving meditation.
