Introduction to Kettlebells

Working with Kettlebells builds strength and flexibility, improves posture and running/walking endurance, and increases proprioceptive awareness. Doing Kettlebell exercises with proper alignment and attention to breathing supercharges their benefits! In this series, Marvin will introduce a variety of Kettlebell exercises with detailed attention to alignment, empowering students to use Kettlebells safely and with maximum effectiveness.

Yoga + Fascial Release

Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds your muscles, blood vessels, and nerves. When it's healthy, fascia allows your muscles to slide and glide as you move. But when your fascia gets tight and stuck, it can restrict your movement. In this class, you'll learn how to release the layers of fascia in your body using special props, techniques, and yoga poses. We will also practice mindful ways to move that are healthy and safe for your hips, knees, and low back. Everyone welcome.

Kettlebells for a Balanced Body

Improve your strength, flexibility, and coordination in this eight-week series that combines Kettlebell exercise with Marvin's Kettlebell Yoga routine. The series focuses on perfecting the 2-arm swing, without a doubt the most beneficial exercise in the Kettlebell arsenal. It stabilizes and strengthens your feet, legs, hips, butt, and back, improves your finger and grip strength, improves abdominal breathing, corrects your posture, and is a phenomenal fat burner. Coupled with the Kettlebell Yoga, this class is the perfect balance of Yin and Yang. Everyone welcome.

Gentle Yoga for Seniors

This class helps build strength, increase flexibility, improve balance, reduce stress, and enhance equanimity for older adults who may benefit from a slower pace, a wide offering of modifications, and a recognition of age-related functional changes.

We encourage students to use props, stay balanced, rest as appropriate, explore range of motion, transition slowly, and progress at their own pace. Since falls are a major cause of disability for seniors, special attention is paid to building core strength and balance. Breath work, relaxation and meditation are included to encourage stress reduction.

This class offers seated chair poses, standing poses, and floor work. Alternatives are available for those who cannot get up and down from the floor unassisted.

Beginners welcome.

Itsy Bitsy Baby

Baby Itsy Bitsy Yoga classes contain dozens of unique yoga postures designed to support baby's development. Each class is filled with calming, nurturing ways to enhance bonding and improve baby's sleep. Babies enjoy yoga while on their backs, tummies, or held in loving arms. For parents, this class is a special opportunity to meet other moms, get support, and learn about baby's emerging personality. Most of the yoga we do is for baby, but you will also learn breathing and relaxation techniques as you practice a bit of yoga yourself. No experience required. For babies 6 weeks to almost crawling, with parent or caregiver.
