Postnatal Fundamentals: Yoga + Community

This class will focus on strengthening, stabilizing and stretching all of the areas of the body hit hardest by pregnancy, childbirth and caring for baby, including your chest and back muscles, your core and pelvic floor as well as your shoulders, neck and wrists. Restorative poses throughout each class will help soothe baby-addled nerves. Led by postpartum doula Rebecca Henry, the class will also include a community circle time for getting to know other moms and talking about postpartum issues and concerns about body and baby. Babies (not yet crawling) and feeding welcome, although asana practice will focus only on mom. Moms who have not yet been cleared for exercise by doctor (pre 4-6 weeks postpartum) will be asked to only do restorative poses during asana time. All levels welcome.
